The Cross Plains computer lab has been the starting point for many talented individuals. There are artists who use the computer lab to express themselves by creating beautiful artwork, while others enjoy delighting their family and friends with greeting cards they have designed. During a recent discussion with Stacy Davidson, I asked him what his “dream job” was, and discovered he had a plan that also included the computer lab. Stacy said he wanted to make and sell custom printed T-shirts.
Stacy and I discussed what we thought he might need
to begin making T-shirts. We made a list, which he then pre-sented to Kevin Ivery, Computer Lab Instructor, and he
and Stacy began compiling a detailed list of items (including printer, ink cartridges, transfer paper, etc.), that he would need to purchase.
One morning, Stacy arrived at Cross Plains with his mother, who was holding a VERY large shopping
bag. Inside the bag were all the items on Stacy’s list, plus several blank T-shirts………. the beginning of “T-Shirts by
Stacy”. Stacy has since printed business cards, a business
sign, and has purchased a heat transfer machine to apply the designs. He recently printed samples of the Cross Plains logo and presented it to Debbie Conway, Cross Plains Director. Stacy’s first sales pitch resulted in his first order.
Stacy’s “Dream Job” is no longer just a dream. With a lot of talent and determination, combined with supports when he needed them, Stacy is making his dream a reality.
